The difference between rubber and plastic

Rubber is the latex obtained from rubber trees, rubber grass and other plants, which is made of elastic, insulating, impermeable and air-tight materials after processing. High elastic polymer compound. Divided into natural rubber and synthetic rubber. Natural rubber is made by extracting colloid from rubber trees, rubber grass and other plants after processing; synthetic rubber is obtained by polymerization of various monomers. Rubber products are widely used in all aspects of industry or life.

Definition of plastic: It is mainly composed of carbon, oxygen, hydrogen and atmosphere and other organic or inorganic elements. The finished product is a solid, and it is a molten liquid during the manufacturing process. Therefore, it can be melted by machine heating, pressured to make it flow, Cooling causes it to solidify and form various shapes. This large and varied group of materials is called plastics.

I. Different nature

1. Rubber: refers to a highly elastic polymer material with reversible deformation.

2. Plastic: refers to a processed plastic (flexible) material, or a rigid material formed by curing and cross-linking.

II. The ingredients are different

1. Rubber: It is made of latex, and part of the non-rubber components contained in the latex remain in the solid natural rubber. Generally, natural rubber contains 92%-95% of rubber hydrocarbons, while non-rubber hydrocarbons account for 5%-8%. Due to different production

methods, different production areas and even different rubber picking seasons, the proportions of these components may be different, but they are basically within the range.

2. Plastic: take high molecular weight synthetic resin as the main component, add appropriate additives, such as plasticizers, stabilizers, flame retardants, lubricants, colorants, etc
